Jones County Junior College’s Workforce College is offering a 30-hour OSHA General Industry course at the JCJC Whitehead Advanced Technology Center in Ellisville in September. The night course will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, September 4 through 7, from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. The class concludes on Monday and Tuesday, September 24 and 25, from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m.
This course helps participants understand how to apply OSHA standards, identify workplace hazards, and how to avoid, control, and prevent unsafe acts or situations in an industrial or business setting. Through peer training, this class promotes a culture of safety using hands-on activities, which can be tailored for a specific participant's needs. Other topics in this course include worker's rights, employer responsibilities and how to file a complaint. Successful participants completing the course will be awarded a 30-hour OSHA General Industry card. The cost of the class is $150.
