South Central Regional Medical Center (SCRMC) has been recognized as a leader in community health education and outreach programs for more than 25 years. Many of the programs offered by SCRMC are funded by the South Central Health Care Foundation. This year, the South Central Foundation has planned an event for the children of the community – a children’s health fair. The health fair will take place on Saturday, June 9th at South Central Place in Laurel.
The Children’s Health Fair is for children ages 12 and under. It is a free event that will take place at South Central Place in Laurel. The event will feature Fingerprinting and Photo Identification Registry, Car Seat Check, Fire Safety Course, Be Your Best Self Mobile Classroom, Ambulance and Fire Truck Tours, health education booths, health screenings and more. Along with educational information, children will also be treated to fun activities. Games, face painting, balloons, photo booths, food vendors and more will be offered to all who attend.
This event is open to the community. The event is sponsored by the South Central Health Care Foundation, whose goal is to improve community health and provide health resources with funds raised throughout the year. The South Central Health Care Foundation was established in 1992 and serves to inspire charitable giving that improves the health of the community.
